Learning Abroad

Over the last few years, the University of Utah has sought to emphasize its international profile. The Department of World Languages and Cultures is a major contributor to this effort. We run seven faculty-led programs abroad during the summer and we have an official exchange agreement with universities in China, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Japan, and Spain. In recent summers we’ve had approximately 200 students studying abroad on our programs. These include our longstanding programs in Kiel, Germany and Siena, Italy as well as newer sites such as Athens, Greece.

Studying abroad is an invaluable experience for language learning and cultural competence, and our programs have the advantage of granting University of Utah credit that applies toward the World Languages and Cultures majors and minors. We hope to see you this summer!
